Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Cash Officer to manage and oversee daily cash transactions, ensure proper handling of funds, and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate should be trustworthy, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while complying with all financial policies and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Handle cash receipts, disbursements, deposits, and withdrawals accurately
  • Maintain accurate cash balances and reconcile daily cash transactions
  • Prepare and verify cash reports, payment vouchers, and bank deposits
  • Monitor and safeguard cash to prevent discrepancies or theft
  • Assist in preparing financial statements or daily cash summaries
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions when needed
  • Support audits by providing required documentation
  • Report any irregularities or suspicious activities promptly
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper documentation of transactions

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Additional certifications in finance or cash handling (e.g., CPA, CFA) are a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a similar role (e.g., Cashier, Teller, or Finance Officer)

  • Experience in cash handling, reconciliation, or working in a banking or retail finance environment

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in transactions

  • Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems)

  • Knowledge of financial controls, cash handling procedures, and reconciliation

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Strong integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to handle confidential information

Behavioral Attributes:

  • High level of responsibility and accountability

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Customer service orientation, especially if working with clients or branches

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of local banking and financial regulations
