Job Summary

A Cash Counter Officer is responsible for handling customer payments, maintaining accurate transaction records, and ensuring smooth cash counter operations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process cash, card, and digital payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily transactions.
  • Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Issue receipts and invoices to customers.
  • Assist customers with payment-related queries.
  • Maintain proper cash handling procedures and security.
  • Coordinate with management regarding daily sales reports.
  • Keep the counter area organized and professional.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Minimum Matric, Intermediate, or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate POS systems.
  • Good mathematical and cash-handling skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate transaction records.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and responsible.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple customers.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Punctual, professional, and well-mannered.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or cash counter officer is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of billing and invoicing.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel and Word).
  • Ability to prepare daily sales and cash reports.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
