The Branch Service Officer (BSO) is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service and supporting day-to-day branch banking operations. The role includes handling customer transactions, account servicing, sales support, and ensuring compliance with banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service & Operations
Handle customer inquiries related to accounts, deposits, withdrawals, loans, and banking products
Process over-the-counter transactions accurately and efficiently
Assist customers with account opening, KYC documentation, and service requests
Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues as required
Sales & Relationship Management
Promote and cross-sell bank products such as savings accounts, fixed deposits, loans, and digital banking services
Identify customer needs and refer potential leads to relationship managers
Support branch sales targets and customer acquisition goals
Skills and Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Fresh graduates may apply for junior BSO positions
Experience
0–3 years of experience in banking, financial services, or customer service
Prior experience in branch operations, teller services, or sales is preferred
Skills & Knowledge
Basic knowledge of banking products and services (accounts, deposits, loans)
Understanding of KYC, AML, and compliance procedures
Strong customer service and communication skills
Sales and cross-selling ability
Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions
Proficiency in MS Office and core banking systems
