Job Summary

A BBQ Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled and barbecued dishes while maintaining high standards of taste, presentation, and food safety. The role requires expertise in grilling techniques, meat preparation, and flavoring.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook BBQ items such as grilled meats, kebabs, steaks, and seafood
  • Marinate, season, and portion meats according to recipes
  • Operate grills, smokers, and other BBQ equipment efficiently
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure quality and consistency
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and grilling area
  • Ensure proper storage of food items and ingredients
  • Check food quality and freshness before cooking
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely food service
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times
  • Assist in menu planning and introducing new BBQ dishes

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Proven experience as a BBQ Chef, Grill Chef, or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of grilling techniques, BBQ styles, and meat cuts
  • Ability to marinate, season, and prepare a variety of meats and BBQ dishes
  • Experience in operating grills, smokers, and other BBQ equipment
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Attention to detail in taste, presentation, and quality
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
