ensure protection of life and property by providing safety and security coverage for all patients, visitors, employees, students, trainees, and volunteers of AKU Outreach/offsite areas within the assigned perimeter.
act as team leader for all security staff in the assigned area and ensure effective performance, discipline, and supervision.
collect updates on law and order situations from police and other relevant agencies and disseminate information to all concerned outreach/offsite users.
coordinate the serviceability, maintenance, and monitoring of electronic security equipment in the assigned area, control room, and SIRC.
ensure the safety of AKU property and the protection of patients, staff, and visitors at all times.
prepare an equitable duty roster for all security staff for approval by the assistant manager/manager and ensure its proper implementation.
assist the assistant manager/manager in implementing organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
identify gaps in security procedures and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
ensure effective deployment of security staff to maintain a safe, secure, and well-protected environment.
supervise security supervisors and security guards effectively during assigned shifts.
maintain and verify all security registers, logs, books, and records in the security control room/SIRC.
conduct regular rounds of the premises to monitor supervisors and guards, ensuring alertness and adherence to assigned duties.
take prompt action in the event of any security or criminal incident and report it immediately to the departmental head/manager.
coordinate the issuance of staff uniforms/apparel.
maintain discipline and assist in controlling overtime and leave under the guidance of the assistant manager while also handling general administrative matters of security staff.
collect law and order updates from police and district administration during shifts and share relevant information with concerned departments as required.
ensure compliance with race/pass protocols.
liaise with and escort police and other law enforcement representatives during their presence on site for official duties.
perform any other tasks assigned by the departmental head/manager.
coordinate and deploy security staff effectively during emergencies or any untoward situation.
provide training and guidance to security staff and other relevant personnel as required.
operate and handle available fire-fighting equipment when necessary.
Required Skills
Skills and Qualification:
For Civilians: B.A (M.A. Preferred).
For Armed Forces: Intermediate - (Graduate - preferred).
Minimum 4-6 years’ experience as a Junior Commissioned in Pakistan Armed Forces, Rangers, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, MODC, Coast Guard or Police.
Honorary Commissioned Officer of the armed forces will be preferred.
Experience and services with SSG & Intelligence units would also be preferred.
Skills to handle and operate small arms like Rifles and Pistol (in exceptional and in- evitable/ Emergency circumstances) for defense and security purpose.
Skills to handling and usage of communication equipment, i.e. Wireless sets & Telephones.
Physically fit & in good health to meet Medical Category “AYE” (Fit in all respects).
Proficient in Supervisory Skills.
Must be able to use MS Outlook.
Proficient in communication & investigation skills.
