Job Summary:

The Assistant Coordinator works closely with the Coordinator to support the smooth functioning of Community Based Schools in the interior Sindh region. This role is hands-on and field-oriented, focusing on regular school visits, classroom support, coordination with school teams, and timely reporting. The Assistant Coordinator helps ensure that schools maintain academic quality, follow organizational policies, and operate efficiently while building positive relationships with teachers, parents, and communities

Roles and Responsibilities:

Academics

  • Assist in reviewing and implementing the yearly syllabus across CBSs.
  • Support Coordinators by visiting schools, spending at least 1–2 days during a 15 Days cycle.
  • Observe classrooms alongside the Coordinator and provide feedback under guidance. Ensure each teacher is reached at least once during an academic session.
  • Help identify professional development needs and assist in organizing training sessions for teachers.
  • Support monitoring of internal and external exam results and contribute to discussions on improving outcomes.
  • Assist in reviewing staff appraisals and maintaining records.

Human Resource

  • Support the Coordinator in conducting tests/interviews for CBS staff and teachers.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on HR-related issues to the Coordinator.

Administration / Operations / IT

  • Assist in preparing standard equipment/supplies lists for schools and coordinate with admin for timely procurement.
  • Report issues related to supplies, maintenance, security, or IT to administration and track resolution progress.
  • Provide regular updates to the Coordinator and management on administrative matters.

Finance

  • Assist Coordinator in monitoring fee recovery and follow up with schools to ensure timely collection (target: 90% of total fees per month).
  • Support Coordinator tracking of student fee arrears and remission processes in coordination with local councils, SWB, and donors.

Others

  • Help Coordinator organize monthly meetings with local councils to share school updates and gather feedback.
  • Assist Coordinator in reporting student activities for wider communication via IYS social media and other platforms.

Required Skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in school administration, coordination, teaching, or support roles.
  • Comfort with regular field visits and working closely with school teams.
  • Ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and simple data tracking tools.
