Job Summary

An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting the organization's financial health. The role involves analyzing financial data, maintaining accurate accounting records, and assisting with budgeting and auditing processes.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and statements.
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Process payroll and related statutory deductions where applicable.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and journal entries.
  • Assist with tax preparation and filing.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
