Job Summary

The Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) is an apex agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), which ensures that communities live in safe, sustainable, and resilient habitats with the opportunity to thrive, whether in a remote mountain village, a town, or a densely populated urban center. Responsibilities include:

  • Review, interpret and implement all technical designs, drawings, BoQs, estimations, specifications, and guidelines at the project site.
  • Supervise all construction activities of the project and ensure compliance to plans and specifications, identifying errors in design/drawings/plans if any, and ensure optimal working of construction personnel.
  • Maintain accurate field notes and flow of technical information and prepare comprehensive assessment reports of site progress.
  • Oversee day-to-day working of engineering personnel, inspect all materials, and assist to resolve all construction process and recommend improvement where required.
  • Prepare all project documents, purchase orders and project schedules and ensure compliance to all health and safety policies.
  • Assess contractor submissions including schedules, method statements, contractor claims and preparing comments on the same.
  • Ensure that the physical progress on site is in line with the schedule planned for construction.
  • Prepare procurement forecast and demand requests.
  • Manage the contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and suppliers for in time delivery, and adherence of the deliverables to the specified standards.
  • Manage other tasks as may be required, including working on professional development plans for the team.

Required Skills

Skills:

  • Hold a graduate degree in civil engineering with more than 08 years of work experience, including at least 5 years on-site experience of building construction.
  • Practical experience in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, MS Office etc. will be preferred.
  • Full understanding of design issues, capable of vetting the drawings, reviewing technical specifications, and suggesting alternates with respect to actual site and project requirements.
  • Good knowledge of MEP works.
  • Sound understanding of QAQC procedures, material testing. Knowledge of preparing logs and recording for the QAQC.
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with health and safety issues.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
