Job Summary

ITREB Pakistan Invites applications for the Manager, Primary Religious Education (RE). S/he will report to the Academic Director (AD) Religious Education and Head of Religious Education Operations and lead the planning, designing, and execution phases of RE programs across Pakistan. The incumbent will ensure the successful planning and execution of a comprehensive Religious Education strategy at the primary level. S/he will be required to work closely with all the relevant stakeholders at the national, regional, and local levels. The Primary Manager will work very closely with the AD and Head of RE Operations. 

Academic responsibilities 

  • Develop the curriculum capacity of Primary RE teachers and increase their conceptual understanding of the IIS primary curriculum, its content, goals, and philosophies
  • Work to increase teachers’ competencies in curriculum designs (unit plans and lesson plans) in alignment with the goals of Primary Ta’lim. 
  • Lead the team of the Teacher Educators to design training programmes for the REC headteachers on enhancing their curricular understanding of Tal’im and developing their skills of mentoring teachers
  • Under the supervision of the Academic Director, the incumbent will develop annual academic plans for Religious Education Centers. 
  • Contribute towards enhancing the curricular understanding of the teacher educators and other academic staff through engaging them in continuing professional development processes.
  • Design strategies ensure parental involvement through capacity building of the relevant stakeholders.
  • Work on developing supplementary learning material for curriculum enrichment through a synchronous, asynchronous, and blended mode of teaching-learning. 
  • Work with the regional academic team to create and sustain a professional learning community that promotes collaboration and peer learning.
  • Contribute to the development of the RE strategy to improve primary education. 
  • Lead and supervise translation of primary modules and ensure timely completion of the translation process 

Strategic/Operational Planning and Direction

  • Design strategies along with the primary coordinator to develop the RE strategy for primary education. 
  • Design a detailed implementation plan of REC policies at the primary level and ensure its implementation at the grassroots level.
  • Actively contribute to the planning and budget exercise. 
  • Work with AD and Head of RE operations to enhance and implement parental and community engagement strategies. 
  • Analyze the exiting RE programs to identify strengths and gaps and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Review quarterly access data of each region consolidated by the MIS unit and suggest action plans to achieve planned annual targets with the collaboration of various regions.
  • Prepare regular reports for the management and the Board on implementing primary RE and its impacts. 
  • Suggest strategies for primary voluntary teachers' induction, retention, and their ongoing professional development 
  • Address the queries of the Local and Regional boards regarding the primary RE programs.
  • Prepare formal documentation of RE programs implementation, analyze reports, develop recommendations and share documentation with the RE Management.
  • Travel regularly across the country and, if required, internationally.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English and Urdu languages 
  • Comfort in working with computing, information, and communication technology. 
  • A willingness to travel from time to time across the country 
  • Willing to work in the evenings and on weekends. 
  • Ability to be discreet, sensitive, and objective in handling departmental affairs 
  • Master’s degree in Education or Social Science or Management along with an understanding of Islamic Studies OR Applicants with a master’s degree in other fields and having relevant experience.
