Job Summary

A Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking high-quality meals while ensuring kitchen operations run efficiently and food safety standards are maintained.

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals according to menu standards.
  • Develop new recipes and menu items to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and daily kitchen operations.
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet established standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order food supplies when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Train and guide kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and procedures.
  • Control food costs and minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Handle customer feedback regarding food quality and make improvements when necessary.

Required Skills

Skill and Qualification;

  • Relevant culinary diploma, certificate, or professional cooking training preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Chef or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of cuisines and menu items.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage kitchen inventory and control food costs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Honest, reliable, and committed to maintaining high-quality food standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.
